When a seriously flashy fly is needed because of visibility or you just need a fly to excite fish this fly may save the day.

Materials

 

Hook Thread Rib Body Wing Head
Tiemco 3769 Black Holographic tinsel UV dubbing Flashabou, Hends hair, sparkle flash or similar Thread

Process

 

A
  1. Wind the thread in touching turns to the bend of the hook tying in the ribbing material as you go.

  1. Using the single strand method of dubbing dub on a thin body of UV dubbing along the rear 3/4 of the hook shank

C
  1. Wind the ribbing material forward forming 4 or 5 body segments.
  2. Trim the excess ribbing material.

  1. Tie in a wing of flashy material.

E
  1. Trim the excess wing material behind the eye of the hook.
  2. Trim the wing so that its just slightly longer than the hook shank.
  3. Build up a neat head of thread.
  4. Whip finish, trim the thread and varnish the head of the fly.
