Deer hair – uses in fly tying

 

A
  1. The process of stacking deer hair is an efficient and effective way of lining up the tips of deer hair.
  2. Clip a bunch of deer hair.
  3. Insert the bunch of deer hair into the stacking tube with tip down.
  4. Insert the stacking tube into the stacking base.
  5. Hold the tube with your thumb over the top and the base cupped in your hand.
  6. Hit the hand holding the deer hair stacker onto your other hand base end down a number of times.
  7. Whilst holding the stacker horizontal carefully separate the two sections and remove the stacked hair.
