Zerek live mullet

 

The Zerek Live Mullet is a jointed soft plastic swimbait that is built from the super strong TPE.

They swim well reaching depths of around 2 meters on a slow roll and of course swim a little shallower on faster retrieves. They are available in 3.5", 4.5" and 5.5" sizes and in 13 colours.

Like all TPE lures the Zerek Live Mullet is quite expensive so if I could only carry a couple of versions to target barramundi they would be would be the 5.5" version in the dark ale colour and or flying bear.

The 4.5" size works better on smaller often more plentiful fish but I already have Transams and Fish traps in basically the same colours as below and the same size as the 4.5" Live Mullet. I do however have fewer lures that do a similar job as the 5.5" Live Mullet so that's why I have gone for the 5.5" live mullet ... you do need to think through you lure selection so you have as many options covered as possible with the minimum number of lures.

Zerek (eg. Live Mullet), Chasebait (eg prawns), Jackal (eg Transam Vibes), Barumbah lures and ZMan 10x softies are all made from individual blends of TPE material.

All those TPE blends,, and in particularly the ZMan blend, melt and deform to varying degrees each others TPE materials and traditional pastersol traditional plastasol soft plastics and PVC lure boxes so each brands TPE soft plastics must be stored away from all other TPE soft plastics and plastisol soft plastics in a non-PVC based containers or their original sealed packaging.

For me each brand of TPE soft plastic is stored in individual non-PVC based zip lock bags laid flat in a PVC free lure box.

This is a goto swimbait for night time fishing for barramundi when you want a shallow running bait. This is also a shallow running swim bait and a great alternative to dark ale when fish are there but ignoring you offering.
