{{+1}}Soft plastic – paddle tail plastisol based{{-1}}
{{start}}
Paddle tail soft plastics are my go to starting point lure when fishing for barramundi. From all the different types of lures the paddle tails, well at least the good ones as described below, have an swimming action that barra often home in on.{{end}}

{{+1}}Samaki hardlicious vibe 110{{-1}}
{{start}}
Maneuvered up or down or held on the hang in front of barra I can see when I have my Garmin's set in "Perspective" mode I can see not only the lure but also moving fish. As long as the barra hangs around I am happy to hold the lure in its vicinity imparting just the smallest of movements with the rod tip. When a barra does decide to feel the offing in its mouth all hell breaks loose ... wow.{{end}}

{{+1}}Belista Juggenaut{{-1}}
{{start}}
I over-paint my Juggernaut's in two popular barra colours. The first is gold with black bars and the second is black with chartreuse bars. In each case the area where the light shines has two coats of undercoat so the the light is subdued but still faintly obvious to barra.{{end}}

{{+1}}Chatto’s Grub tail prawn – open/top pour soft plastic{{-1}}
{{start}}
This combination, my grub tail prawn, has earned a place in my tackle box as a favourite when scroungers such as fingermark, blue salmon, grunter, mangrove jack, flathead, bigger than average bream and of course rock cod are on the chew.{{end}}

{{+1}}Alpha Gar – open/top pour soft plastic{{-1}}
{{start}}
These are big soft plastics for big barra. I make them in just 6 colours and fish them in Awoonga Dam which is of course a freshwater impoundment. I also fish them in coastal barra waters including Gladstone Harbor and the Narrows.{{end}}
