Historically, weedless soft plastic paddle tails have had a poor reputation for hook up rate because the soft plastic material does not compress enough when a barra takes the bait.
This ingenious soft plastic paddle tail has all the fish attracting capabilities of other soft plastic paddle tails but has been designed hollow and open to the water so that on the strike most of the extremely durable TPE material is easily squeezed out of the way, by the bite, increasing the hook up rate for a weedless rigged soft plastic paddle tail.
It has solid hardware which is more than up to handling big barra, can be rigged with a spinner or other attractor from a built in hanger behind the weight and comes in a great range of colors with my favorites being:
- Black Jack for-pre dusk to post-dawn or dull day fishing
- Purple over white which is great for pre-dusk to post-dawn fishing
- Gold with black fleck for general day time, pre-dusk and post-dawn fishing
- Fat betty which is pink and bright and a great daylight option if your targeting feeding fish around colour changes or in dirty water across points and at the back of bays.
It’s available in 5 sizes with 5″ being my preferred daytime colour and 7″ fitting the bill at all other times and is delivered ready to fish as a weedless soft plastic and fills that spot in my barra “TPE baits” lure box very nicely.

Zerek, Chasebait, Transams & Barumbah lures made from straight TPE material and ZMan softies made from their “Plastec TPE” melt and deform traditional plastasol soft plastics and PVC lure boxes so must be stored away from all plastisol soft plastics in a non-PVC based container or their original sealed packaging.
Mine are stored individual non-PVC based zip lock bags laid flat in a PVC free lure box.
