We are located in the quaint village of Lumsden which is only an hour away from either Queenstown’s international or Invercargill’s domestic airports. Situated next to the beautiful Oreti River, we are at the crossroads to a further 35 crystal clear trout and salmon fishing rivers, streams and lakes. The southern regions of New Zealand are world renowned for trophy fish, pristine clear waters and access to private fishing spots. If you have not yet experienced the thrill of fishing here on the South Island, I can assure you it is an experience such that the wily fish will test your angling skills and the scenery will take your breath away! If saltwater fishing interests you, the southern ocean and world heritage site Fiordland National Park are only an hour away and offer thrilling adventure, crystal waters and stunning catches.

Our accommodation is conveniently located in the heart of Lumsden and offers stylish and comfortable rooms. The circa 1867 historic hotel has been extensively renovated and tastefully furnished with many personal touches. There are 8 rooms offering various configurations including both ensuite and shared bathroom facilities. Your group booking will allow you exclusive use of the entire main floor which offers spacious lounge, kitchen and a conference room.

There are several options for dining in Lumsden. The hotel is conveniently provisioned for self-catering offering a fully appointed kitchen or, alternatively, in-house chef services can be organised. Our innovative chef makes use of fresh, locally sourced New Zealand meat, seafood and produce and is happy to accommodate your personal requests.

Professional guiding can be arranged at an additional cost and can be tailored to the particular requirements for the experience level and interests of your group.
