Around 50 days after eggs have been lay sac fry hatch. These fry are poor swimmers because of the sac and consequently the imitation should be fished amongst the rubble on the stream bed or on the dead drift. Fish them under an indicator and respond to slightest irregular movement in the indicator in the same way you would if nymph fishing.

Process
| A |
- Wind the thread over the front third of the hook shank in touching turns.
- Tie in a set of plastic or chromed brass bead chain eyes at the one third position.

- Tie in a length of Mylar tubing directly in front of the eyes with the excess tubing hanging over the back of the fly.
- Build up a neat cone shaped head between the eyes and the eye of the hook without crowding the hook.

- Turn the hook upside down in the vice.
- At the 1/3 position tie in a length of glow bug yarn with 3 or 4 firm wraps of thread on top of each other.
- Whilst holding both the front and the back ends of the glow bug yarn out of the way take a couple of horizontal wraps of thread to bind the glow bug yarn into one mass.

- Tie the thread off behind the eye of the hook and trim the excess thread.
- With a sharp pair of scissors trim the glow bug yarn off so that its no longer than the gape of the hook and trim its edges so that it roughly egg shaped.
